Hainan visa application is an important issue for foreign people who will study, work or do business in the city. Foreigners in Haikou, Sanya or Yangpu may hand in their applications to the exit & entry administration division of the public security bureau in Haikou, Sanya or Yangpu respectively. Foreigners in other parts of Hainan should hand in the applications to the Exit & Entry.
A visa is an officially approved document issued by authorized bodies for the government, in accordance with the laws of the country, to foreign citizens applying to enter, leave or transit through the country. Based on Chinese laws and regulations, Chinese consular officials may decide on the type of visa, number of entries, validity period and duration of stay, and may also refuse a visa application or revoke an issued visa.
Conditions on Application
Under no circumstances of entrance prohibited and meet one of the following conditions:
1. Apply for visa: foreigners who come to Hainan for settlement, investment, work, study, visit, cultural and technological exchanges, visiting relatives, travel, transit and other private affairs can apply for visas.
2. Apply for Residence permit: foreigners holding Z, X and J-1 visas issued by embassies and consulates as well as Hong Kong and Macao government offices; foreigners coming to China under visa exemption agreement need to stay longer than the prescribed period; foreigners holding the residence permit.
Required Materials
The information required for visa application include:
(1) Valid international travel documents;
(2) Ordinary passport;
(3) Application of Visa and Residence Permit;
(4) Recent full-face and bear-headed photo;
(5) Certification materials related to visa and residence permit application.
(6) Other documents required by the authority.
Proper Time for Visa Application
It is advised that you submit the application one month in advance of your planned date of entry. Application made too early may cause the expiry of the visa and you won’t be able to use it in the end, but if you submit an application too late, there might not be enough time for the application to be processed.
