COHL Headquarters & key project of Midea Group set up in Haikou

On December 13, the signing ceremony of the fourth group of Hainan Free Trade Port key projects was held in Haikou. Deals for a total of 75 high-quality projects were inked, including 14 foreign-funded and 61 domestic-funded projects, with a total contracted investment of approximately 39 billion yuan.

Key projects of 8 well-known enterprises, including Midea Group Co., Ltd., China National Offshore Oil Corporation, BioPlus Co., Ltd, a Korean biotechnology enterprise, and Cainiao Network Technology Co Ltd, the logistics arm of e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, will be set up in Haikou’s Jiangdong New Area, involving a total investment of  nearly 4 billion yuan.

In addition, China Overseas Holdings Limited officially announced that it would open headquarters in Haikou at the settlement launching ceremony held on the same day.

According to Jiang Yaolin, executive director of China Overseas Holdings Limited, the group will develop the tourism, medical, and health care industries in Hainan, in hopes to cultivate new forms of tourism by linking  up tourism resources from across China while tapping into more business potential based on the unique local resources in Hainan.

"Taking advantage of the opportunity of the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, we plan to invest 2 billion yuan to build an overseas medical and health care tourism base in Hainan," said Jiang Yaolin. China Overseas Holdings Limited has about 3,000 stores across the country and plans to organize business training in Haikou taught by experienced store personnel to further promote Hainan.
