Number of market entities in Hainan reached 1.2 million in Jan

According to the Hainan Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, as of the end of January this year, Hainan had a total of 1,206,500 market entities. In January 2021, 21,359 new market entities were opened in the province, a year-on-year increase of 76.46%.
In 2020, Hainan attracted 310,000 newly added market entities, up 30.9% from last year. These included 150,000 brand new enterprises, twice as many as in 2019. The number of enterprises registering in Hainan in January 2021 reached 10,419, a year-on-year increase of 115.89%.
In January 2021, the tourism, modern service, and high-tech industries in Hainan witnessed a growth of 18,739 market entities, a jump of 73.62% over the same period last year.
Out of Hainan's 12 key industries, the modern financial service industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and oil and gas marine market entities increased faster than they did over the same period last year, scoring year-on-year increases of 833.33%, 450%, and 265.85% respectively.
